About Art After dusk

Bessie Nunes is a creative, an Artist and a mother of three, who works across various art mediums. Bessie’s work is derived from nature and her biggest inspiration is the beauty in our natural Australian landscapes and unique flora and fauna.

Bessie’s works are a labour of love and she prides herself on capturing the essence of her subjects. Her drawings, paintings and ceramic works are the culmination of much time spent studying her subject matter, sketching, painting and capturing the finer details, before reimagining them on her chosen surface.

Art After Dusk was born out of the need to feed her creative soul: “…once I put the kids to bed I literally found myself staying up until the early hours of the morning to work on projects so I could feel like myself again. Being creative, is the only way I know how to be, it brings me peace and balance but most importantly, it brings me so much joy.”

Art After Dusk’s philosophy is simple, to connect with nature, leave as little impact on the planet as possible and strive to promote conservation through the exposure of her artworks.
